Sarasota

The first sunrise of 2013 the morning we pulled anchor to cruise south towards Sarasota.

After picking up a mooring ball in Sarasota, it's time for pupus and a Cruzan & Diet!

O'Leary's Bar & Grill is a popular place to bring your dinghy ashore and is just a short walk to downtown Sarasota.

Getting back to Spiritus in time to enjoy another gorgeous sunset.  We never tire of these views!

The dinghy dock at Marina Jack provided a "dignified" way of going ashore from our mooring ball.

The 3-D version of the famous World War II Times Square photo in which a sailor and a nurse celebrate the good news!
The sculptor titled his 30 foot-tall work "Unconditional Surrender".

We walked from downtown Sarasota over the Ringling Bridge to St. Armand's Key for a delicious Columbian lunch.
Afterwards we enjoyed upscale (and overpriced!) window shopping.

A "good" day of walking gives us 10,000 steps.  This day was obviously overkill!!

New-found "mooring ball" friends Jeff & Deb share an evening aboard Spiritus.
By the end of our Loop we will need an additional address book to keep track of all the wonderful boaters we've met!

From Spiritus, our view of the fabulous Sarasota skyline in the day . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . and the enchanting view at night.
