"Spiritus" is a 36 foot, Grand Banks trawler.  We purchased her with the expressed intention of cruising America's waterways when Linda and I retire.

Several years ago, we joined an organization called America's Great Loop Cruisers' Association, or AGLCA for short.  Members of the AGLCA dream of cruising, are currently cruising, or have already completed cruising part or all of North America's eastern waterways.

"The Great Loop" allows trawlers like Spiritus to cruise the protected waters of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) along the eastern seaboard from Florida to Delaware, up the Hudson River to the canal systems of New York and Canada, through the Great Lakes to the city of Chicago, down the Illinois river to the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee rivers, and finally southbound on the Tennessee Tom-Bigbee Waterway to Mobile, Alabama and the salt waters of the Gulf of Mexico!

We invite you to follow our blog as we travel on this adventure of a lifetime!
