It's always good to get back to the friendly folks at Dunedin's Marker 1 Marina.
A short trolley ride down to Clearwater Beach allowed us to enjoy the fabulous
sand sculptures at the Sugar Sand Festival.
It was a treat to spend the day at nearby Sunset Beach to watch our friend Ruth show off
her kite-boarding skills.
Leaving the Florida West Coast behind us as we cross the Gulf of Mexico
once again. Destination: Dog Island, near Carrabelle, in nineteen hours.
Playful groups of dolphin join us when they're not "fishing"!
Out of sight of land, the First Mate crosschecks our chart plotter's GPS position
with a good old paper chart.
The Captain gives a "thumbs-up" and a hearty "land-ho" when we see
Dog Island far off in the distance the next morning.
Our arrival at Dog Island coincides with the end of the workday for the local shrimping fleet.
