Farewell to Legacy Marina

The Legacy Marina staff hosts an annual Boaters Appreciation Dinner & Dance.
The deck next to the Chickee Hut was set for 160 lucky boaters . . . . we were two of the lucky ones!

The Harbor Master, Eric, is well known for his daily work uniform: Columbia shirt, khaki shorts & flip flops.
You can't see it in this picture, but he is still wearing his flip flops!

A live band performed for our entertainment after a most delicious catered dinner.

At the Appreciation Dinner, we were thrilled to win a pair of baseball game tickets as a door prize!
Ft Myers is the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox.

A baseball game wouldn't be complete without a hotdog, sausage and beer!

Wet Hen-sister, Jan, helps Linda celebrate the last day of Linda's birth month with (you guessed it!)
ICE CREAM!

After a month at Legacy Marina, our dock mates finally get to cast off our lines and bid us farewell.

Spiritus pulls away from our "February harbor home".

Fellow Loopers, Mike & Cindy, sent us on our way with fresh, homemade pastries from our favorite coffee shop!
Ever had a bacon-maple donut??  Your tastebuds will have an orgasm!

Franklin Lock, on the Caloosahatchee River, is the first of five locks we will encounter.
The Okeechobee Waterway takes us from Ft Myers, through Lake Okeechobee, to Stuart, Florida.

Unlike the locks on the Tenn-Tom waterway, we don't have to secure Spiritus to a bollard.
Because we are only lifted two feet, we simply hold on to lines that are attached to the lock wall.

We stopped to discover why Rialto Harbor Marina has been rated by Waterway Guide as one of Florida's top ten marinas.

Having the owners deliver fresh flowers to your boat upon arrival . . . . . .

. . . . . . your very own tiki hut right next to your boat . . . . . .

. . . . . .your own individual dockside garden area . . . . . .

. . . . . .a hickory fired Weber grill  to cook your meals . . . . . .

. . . . . . an inviting, heated pool to relax in . . . . . .

 . . . . . . horses to pet . . . . . .

 . . . . . . chickens to feed . . . . . .

. . . . . . and flowers to arouse the senses . . . . . .

. . . . . are all reasons why Rialto Harbor Marina is the perfect place to escape to the tranquility of gracious old Florida.
