The annual "Sisters Reunion" over President's Day Weekend was held at Ft Myers Beach this year.
Mary flew in from New York, Maggie came all the way from Denver, and Brenda flew down from Washington D.C.
It was a magical three days!
Upon arrival, the ladies exchanged hugs with the guys before sending them on their way!!
"No Men Allowed" has always been their mantra during this exclusive event!
Linda's brother, Rich, spent the weekend with Eddy aboard Spiritus while the girls played at the beach.
That just meant more scotch for us!
And the sisters kept up with bloody mary's at the beach!!
Mom & Dad Pennington surprised the girls by having "treats" sent to their hotel room during the sisters' special weekend!
We have the best-ever parents!
The Edison Light Parade in Ft Myers is the largest night parade in the U.S.
Tens of thousands of spectators started claiming their viewing spots well before sunset to watch the 75th anniversary of this event.
Even the world's most famous horses, The Budweiser Clydesdales, came to celebrate!
A visit to the Ford & Edison Winter Estates will give you a glimpse of life in the early 1900s.
Edison bought this home in the 1890's.
Thanks to his wonderful invention, the light bulb, Edison's house was more than adequately lighted.
By opening large french doors on all four sides of the house, breezes from the Caloosahatchee River provided cool, soothing air.
Fireplaces, like the one in this bedroom, are proof that the weather isn't always warm & balmy here!
Edison's workshop, on the grounds of his winter home.
His genius brain was always engaged, even when he was "relaxing"!
Henry Ford bought the home right next to his mentor, Thomas Edison.
Model T Fords, of course!
Our friends, Ruth & Don, drove down from Pinellas County to spend a couple days with us.
We all strike a pose on the beautiful rooftop of the Firestone Bar & Grill.
During a visit to Manatee Park, Captain Eddy coaxed a friend out of the water to pose for this shot!
These slow-moving creatures enjoy the warm water of the Caloosahatchee River.
Not the Southern Most Point in the U.S.!!!!
Great live music, warm sunshine, tasty food & cold, cold beer at Woody's on Pine Island!
Ruth & Don take advantage of the live, toe-tapping music to "show their stuff" on the dancefloor!
After spending almost two months at Ft Myers Beach, fellow Loopers Mike & Cindy finally cut their lines and headed up the river to join us in Ft Myers!
They stayed so long at The Beach, Mike was named "Volunteer of the Quarter" at the city library!
Yes, it's February . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . and flowers are still blooming!
What a privilege to share time with long-time friends like Dwight & Terri, who flew down from Atlanta for a quick visit!
Popping the cork of some "bubbly" on Spiritus!
Toasting to dear friends, memorable times, and a good life!
This banyan tree, the largest on the continental U.S., covers one entire acre!
We tried, but millionaires apparently don't let "trawler trash" onto their estates!
But our friends say money can't buy our FUN personalities!
