Happy New Year Cruising 2017

The happy revelers bringing in the New Year at the Sandestin Hilton!

All Mom wanted for New Year's Eve was to see fireworks.
The Baytowne Wharf put on an amazing display just for her!

This pelican seemed to keep a watchful eye on Spiritus while she was moored in Dunedin.
Actually, it was just a great place for him to spot fish.

A beautiful morning to start our cruise southward from Dunedin.
A month earlier, Linda, Mary & Eddy rode their bikes over this bridge to Clearwater Beach.

Our smoothest-ever crossing of Tampa Bay!

We just LOVE anchoring at Longboat Key!

The Captain rows his crew ashore to reward her with a double scoop of Trash Can ice cream!

Washed down our ice cream with beers at The Bridge Tender Inn AND The Freckled Fin.

It's such a delightful walk along the Bradenton Beach trail.
The pines remind us of Bellows Beach on the windward side of Oahu.

These white and brown pelicans have mastered the art of integration.

Spiritus cruised by these confident equestrians, sans life jackets!

Our next anchorage, Englewood Beach, allowed more walks on the beach and . . .

. . . more live music with more adult drinks!

We experienced a first today . . . Tow Boat US helped pull Spiritus off a sandbar during low tide.

Palm Island Marina was a perfect place to stop for a couple nights.
Spiritus got new house batteries and her crew got to relax at the pool.

Dozens of dolphin escorted us to our next anchorage at Pelican Bay, Cayo Costa State Park.

This pristine anchorage is indeed our favorite.
We dinghy to shore and enjoy the most beautiful nature trails and private beach!

The glorious sunrises and sunsets can't be beat!

Spiritus is happily tucked in at the beautiful Burnt Store Marina and resort.
It's been fun to reunite with so many boaters here.

And we've been visited by dozens of manatee.  Oh, the joys of living on the water!
