Wheeler Lodge AGLCA Fall Rendezvous

Spiritus has a front row slip, directly in front of the beautiful Wheeler Lodge.
The Lodge will house the participants who come by car to attend the AGLCA Fall Rendezvous.

Soon Spiritus is joined by more Looper boats . . . . .

. . . . . and finally all 60 Looper boats arrive for the AGLCA Fall Rendezvous!

This year's AGLCA Rendezvous had a record crowd of 274 boating enthusiasts.
We felt honored to give 2 presentations: "Cruising the Panhandle" and "Crossing the Gulf without Drama".

The Lodge's lovely pool deck was the setting for our daily docktails and story telling!

We made lots of new friends including Moe and Jim on Gemini who hail from Michigan.
They took a long bike ride with us through the beautiful state park before the 3-day presentations began.

During our bike ride, we bonded with many tame deer alongside the road.

And on our daily walks we would see these lovely creatures watching US on the hiking trail!

Eddy competed in the men's kayak races . . . . .

. . . . .  he was voted "Best Personality"!

Linda competed in the women's kayak races . . . .

. . . . she won the prize for second place but ask her how many women competed!

One evening our group went to the Rogersville Cotton Gin for a concert by "Father & Sons".
These accomplished musicians did back-up for Lynard Skynard and Bonnie Raitt.

It was a fun night of singing, dancing . . . . and yes, s'more making!  YUM!!

The last evening at Wheeler Lodge, we had our own jam session featuring talented Looper musicians.
Have you ever heard the sounds of keyboards, guitars, ukuleles, and dulcimers?

Spiritus was one of the last to leave because we stayed for the AGLCA Advisory Council meeting.
We are so grateful to have the opportunity to "pay it forward" to a group who shares our boating passion!
