Colorful flowers adorned the office of Starport Marina at Port Severn.
Port Severn marks the official end of our trip on the beautiful Trent-Severn Waterway, a trip we'll never forget!
Captain Eddy takes advantage of our "down-time" at Severn to change fuel filters.
Diesel fuel is nasty!!
While the Captain is slaving away, the First Mate Hippie Chick is chilling on the dock!
You gotta' love a marina with a sense of humor!
Hugs and smiles and blessings at sunset!
The next morning, we unexpectedly spot Aurora coming down the waterway heading to the last lock in Port Severn.
Finally, Mike & Cindy see us waving enthusiastically from the dock and come over for lunch & a visit.
Mike & Cindy are all smiles as we share our inside joke about bacon!
Having lunch at The Dam Cafe, with the Port Severn Lock in the background.
And for dessert . . . . . . what else?!?!
This smart, good looking puppy waits patiently for his master to return from the ice cream store.
After lunch we bid farewell to Aurora as she is lowered in the Trent-Severn's last lock.
Captain Eddy helps the lockworker open the lock gates for Aurora.
This is dizzying work!
The doors are open and Aurora is on her way!
Early the next morning, we restepped the mast and took on some more fuel.
We "toast" our hosts at Starport Marina before departing for the Georgian Bay.
We departed Port Severn on Friday, August 7th, and spent the following 7 nights at anchor at various locations on the Georgian Bay. The remoteness of this area eluded our ability to update our blog since wi-fi was non-existant.
We are currently safe & sound in Kilarney, on the extreme west end of Georgian Bay, at a wonderful resort. But it has the has the worst wi-fi ever and just getting the above entry posted took waaaaaayyy too much time!
Hopefully, things will improve as we get closer to "civilization"!
Still "living the life" on Spiritus!
